HTML Help: Editing The Size of YouTube Videos

When you grab a YouTube video, you're required to embed the HTML. Sometimes, the sizes to choose from are big - bigger than the width of your blog post. This is a problem, right? Yeah, but there's a way to fix it. We'll edit the HTML of the video itself and make it fit a blog post. It's a cinch!

1. First of all, get the code for a video. Create a New Post on your blog and Paste the code in the tab above (where it says Edit HTML).

2. For my blog, a video that has a width of 560 is too long. We'll edit the size for it. Look for the code that says height="340" width="560" (this will be located at the beginning and end of the code).

3. We'll change the height to 243 and the width to 400. Make sure that you do this to both the beginning and end of the code. All you have to do now is publish the post and the video should be smaller.

Firefox Tips: How To Remove Cookies

A cookie (also known as a tracking cookie, browser cookie, and HTTP cookie), stores information on a user's browser. Web servers use cookies for authentication, storing site preferences, and etc. You can remove cookies individually from your browser. You might want to only delete certain cookies and save others. I'll show you how to do this in three quick steps. Click on images below to maximize them.

1. Move your cursor up to Tools and click on Options...

2. Make sure that you're on Privacy (the tab at the top). Click on remove individual cookies.

3. You can scroll through this list and select what cookies you want to remove. Click on Remove Cookie to remove the one that you selected or you could Remove All Cookies. It's up to you.

Firefox Tips: Bookmarking A Site

Bookmarking a site is like sticking a bookmark in a book. When you bookmark a site, the browser keeps it for you (it's great because you won't forget about it). You'll either have it bookmarked in the menu or on your toolbar. I'll show you how to do it in four easy steps. Click on images below to maximize them.

1. Right click on the site you want to bookmark (ex. thechristianscroll.blogspot.com) and click on Bookmark This Page.

2. A little window will pop up on your screen and say "Page Bookmarked". Click on Done.

3. Move your cursor up to the top of your browser and click on Bookmarks. The new site should be listed there (The Christian Scroll).

4. Do you want your bookmarked site to show up on your toolbar? It seems like you have to either want it on your menu or toolbar. I don't think you can have both. Repeat step 1. See where it says Folder? Click on the little arrow to the right of that. Select Bookmarks Toolbar.

It's been added to your toolbar. You're done!

Firefox Tips: Selecting A Site As Your Homepage

When you first open your browser, it will always start up on your homepage. Do you want to change what site it shows? It's really easy to select a site and add it. Here's three steps to selecting a site as your homepage. Click on images below to maximize them.

1. First of all, copy the URL of the site you want as your Homepage. Next, move your mouse up to Tools (at the very top of your browser) and click on Options...

2. Make sure you're on General. See where it says Home Page? That is what your homepage is set to at the moment. We're going to change it.

3. Take out the URL and right click in the white space. Select paste and your new URL should show up (if it doesn't, you might need to try it again). Click on OK and you're finished!

The next time you open your browser, this new site should be your homepage. You can always click on the Home button at the top of your browser to return to your homepage.

Firefox Tips: How To Install Persona Plus To Your Browser

Have you heard of Persona? Personas are beautiful skins for your browser that you can change as often as you desire. It's an add-on that you can add to your Mozilla Firefox browser. Don't know how to get one? I'll help! Follow these five simple steps to download it. Click on images below to maximize them for better viewing.

1. Go to the Firefox site here: mozilla.com. Move your cursor up to Add-ons and click on Popular.

2. See Persona Plus? Click on the title of it.

3. Ready to install it? Click on Add to Firefox to do so. See in the image where it says "Works with"? Make sure you have the correct browser. You can download the newest version of Firefox here: Firefox 3.6.

4. It is now installing. When it's done, it will ask if you want to restart. Click on Restart Firefox and it will take you to a new page.

5. You have installed Persona Plus! There are tons of skins that your browser can wear. Move your cursor over one of the featured Personas (Alice In Wonderland). Move your cursor over Wear It and it will show you what that skin looks like on your browser. Want it? Click on it and it should stay on your browser.

This is where Personas is located. You can change your skins from here. Although, there are not as many choices (it's better to go to the site itself). *Note* If you're using an older theme for your browser, you might need to uninstall it for Personas to work. That's it! You're done.

Firefox Tips: How To Install A Theme

Want a new theme for your Firefox browser but don't know how to get one? I'm here to help! It's a quick process and I'll show you how to do it in five easy steps. Ready? Here we go!

1. First things first, we'll need to visit the Firefox website at mozilla.com. Now that we're on the site, we can begin our steps. Direct your mouse up to Add-ons (click on image above to maximize it) and click on Themes.

2. See the sidebar on your left? Those are all the choices that you have in picking a theme. We'll choose Miscellaneous.

3. We are now on Miscellaneous and there are 184 themes to choose from! Go ahead and click on A Blue Fox Theme.

4. See the text that's highlighted in blue? You want to make sure that you have the right Firefox version. I have version 3.6, so it will work. I won't have you click on the Add to Firefox button because it will download. I will click on the button to show you what it does, unless of course, you want this theme.

5. In the image above, we can see that it's downloading. It's not a big file so it will download rather quickly. After it's done, it will ask if you want to restart Firefox. You'll want to restart it, because it will show the new theme that you just downloaded. That's it! You're done.

I just want to say thanks to everyone for the overwhelming support of my last blog post. I received way more comments than I was expecting. It was awesome! But...I wish so much that I could be able to donate that much money. I was going to donate about $50.00 but someone is going to donate another $50.00 and make it $100.00. Yay! This is so exciting! The last blog post reached more than 100 comments!

I'm going to publish all of the wonderful comments that I received. It touched me so much to read all of them. I'll be donating the money to Compassion soon! Thanks again everyone! Thank You, God =)
